Repeatable reporting for accounting firms
Standardise the reporting process while preserving each client's permissions and accounting context.
- 1Client scope
- 2Reviewed template
- 3Client-only delivery
Separate client scope
Define a reporting pack and source contract for each client. Reuse a template only where its assumptions match; do not silently apply one client's accounting policy to another.
A useful first engagement
Choose a client with several entities and recurring manual reconciliation. Agree the reporting lines, review responsibilities and delivery calendar before importing historical data.
Review and access
Test who can see each client's data, approve a mapping change and release a report. Validate these boundaries in the actual configured environment; this page is not a certification claim.
Commercial scope
Request a quotation covering client and entity counts, source systems, report variants, onboarding and ongoing support. Keep exceptional work explicit.
A reusable client handover
- Agree one report template with a named client reviewer and delivery date.
- Record which mappings belong to the template and which are client-specific. Review changes before reusing them elsewhere.
- Test access with an account from another client, including source files and exports.
- Hand over the report with the reporting period, unresolved exceptions and approval owner.
Evidence to keep
| Deliverable | Acceptance question |
|---|---|
| Client scope | Are entities, sources and report recipients explicit? |
| Mapping register | Can a reviewer explain each changed mapping? |
| Release record | Who approved this period and which exceptions remain? |
